The Police Activities League (PAL) of Massena offers volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups to help change and improve the lives of children and youth in a safe and engaging environment while providing programming that inspires and prepares them for great futures! Whether it’s helping a child with his or her reading skills or coaching a flag football team you can find an opportunity to make a difference. See details below on how you can get involved!

Massena PAL is actively recruiting fun, skilled and committed volunteers. Our volunteer needs are on-going and we are always looking to expand our volunteer family.

Opportunities

Homework Help Volunteer
Come help us between the hours of 3-6 p.m. We are looking for volunteers who can tutor our members in various subjects. The children benefit from the one-on-one attention in reading and completing homework. Volunteers are paired with a student to provide tutoring and offer academic assistance.

Mentor
Mentors wear several hats and can assist the Club in a variety of programs. Mentors are assigned to activities that require the most need upon their arrival. Activities can include homework help, computer lab monitor or a recreational assistant.

Arts Volunteer
Art & Culture volunteers are needed to assist with programs, judge competitions, create murals, etc. we can utilize any art skill offered. We offer programs in visual art, photography, painting, drawing, music, dance, etc. Volunteers should have experience in their specified style of art.

Recreational Volunteer
Looking to get involved with our sports, fitness and recreation programs? We are always looking for coaches and volunteers for a variety of activities.

Special Events Volunteer
Do you love volunteering, but unable to commit to a regular schedule? Throughout the year, we host a number of special events where we need volunteers. Complete the Volunteer Application to get on the email list for special event opportunities.

Group Volunteering
We have many opportunities for groups such as corporations, churches or even universities. Groups volunteer with their staff at our Club. Opportunities can be created for a specific date or desired project. Beautification projects are great projects for corporations and include projects for volunteers such as mural painting, flower planting and outdoor clean-up.

If you are passionate and interested in inspiring, motivating and impacting young lives, then PAL of Massena is the place for you! We offer rewarding volunteer opportunities in the areas listed above, as well as activities that will allow you to share special talents — like astronomy, dance or cooking. All volunteers are subject to background checks and may receive special training, depending on the role they will serve with the Club.

In order to become a volunteer you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age.*
• Complete a Volunteer Application Form.
• Pass the required background check.
  You will be notified once your background check is cleared and will then be scheduled for a club orientation before officially becoming a volunteer.
